Abraham Isahakovich Alikhanov (February 20, 1904 December 8, 1970) was a Soviet Armenia physicist, academic, and member of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1945, he founded and became director of the Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics. He was born on February 20, 1904, in the Elisabethpol Governorate of the Russian Empire (now Ganja, Azerbaijan), to an Armenian family. In 1928 he graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute.
