Future food security depends on our ability to minimize and manage the stresses on crops and trees. A significant development has been made in understanding of plant's responses under different stresses and how they can be controlled with the use of plant hormones, particularly the growth hormones. Our improving understanding of plant hormones also increase the chances that plants can be genetically modified to enhance their tolerance to environmental stresses. In this book, we present the overview of an ABA-an important plant hormone and how it can provide a possible part of solution to increase crop adaptability to future increases in temperatures and soil contamination.
