Many children in Kenya today (and around the world) are growing up in father-absent homes as divorce/separation cases soar. Serious questions need to be answered about the implications of this growing phenomenon, especially on children navigating the murky waters of adolescence. Being a teenager seems to be tough business these days. Throw in a broken family characterized by an absent father and life becomes a crisis. How does growing up without a father impact teenagers' lives as they define who they are and what they will stand for? Bridget explores these questions in her research, showing that fathers have a lot more to do with a child's view of themselves, God and the opposite sex than we often realize.
