Autorenporträt
William Long, known to his friends as Bill, lives and works in Northern Ireland. He has travelled extensively to a number of countries to pursue his interest in ancient cultures, including Italy, Sri Lanka, Egypt, the Yucatan in Mexico, and Newgrange in Ireland. He is from a sales and marketing background, having at one time owned a business designing and producing branded goods for a wide range of high profile clients, including Coca-Cola, the Ryder Cup, and the Five Nations Rugby Championship etc. After retiring from business, he devoted some of his time for a few years to working in a men's hostel for the homeless. Now he concentrates on writing, with his popular series of Timecrack sci-fi/fantasy adventure stories aimed at the young adult market - and older kids! The books have been well received by a wide cross-section of readers including: 'A rollercoaster Sci-fi adventure that flings the reader headlong into other worlds that are all the more unnerving because they blend the fantastic with the familiar. You catch yourself thinking -somewhere in our past or our future this might actually be happening. A novel that awakens the young-adventurer in all of us.' Karen Maitland Best-Selling Author 'William Long's Timecrack is a good old fashioned science fiction romp in the true spirit of the father of the genre, H.G. Wells. This dizzying Boy's-Own escapade through the wormholes of time and space will have you gripped right to the last with its fantastical vistas of new exotic worlds and ancient civilisations.' M. McCullough Night Editor - Daily Mail The first in the Timecrack Adventures series Timecrack, followed by Copanatec, are available from www.williamlongbooks.co.uk and Amazon. The third in the trilogy, Varakite, a vampire-like being who seeks energy, is due soon.
