This book is an attempt to describe the role of study habits and achievement motivation in realizing the most important goal of education i.e. academic achievement of a child. In today's competitive world where quality is becoming more important than quantity, performance is the factor of growth in each individual. Achievement itself on varying degree depends upon various factors like age, sex, personality, motivation, socio-economic status, attitude, study habits etc. which are termed as correlates of achievement and in turn categorizes pupils as high achievers, average achievers, low achievers. Out of these, achievement motivation is considered to be deep rooted and fixed in human nature which plays a significant role in the total shaping of behaviour and personality of an individual. To attain high it is also necessary for the students to develop good study habits and skills because a well formed habit furnishes its own source of motivation. So the present work is an endeavor to investigate the relationship of academic achievement with study habits and achievement motivation among adolescents.
