Willem H.M. van Immerzeel trabaja desde 1981 en desarrollo rural. Comenzó a diseñar e implementar Pachamama Raymi en 1987 e introdujo y mejoró esta metodología en muchos proyectos en América Latina. Es presidente de la Fundación Pachamama Raymi y vicepresidente de DEXCEL-International, que ejecuta proyectos de desarrollo rural.
