While brainstorming on what subject to do my dissertation on, I noticed that regarding the Deaf and human computer interaction very little research existed. Therefore I decided to contribute to this field. The Deaf community in is no longer a minority group; therefore one must take under consideration their needs regarding communication and interaction. As they do not communicate and interact as hearing people this means any existing usability or accessibility guidelines do not apply to the deaf community. In result not allowing the deaf user to have access to information as a hearing person does. Providing proper access to ICT services, which meet their particular needs, will help the hearing impaired to better integrate into society. The importance of demolishing the communication barrier between hearing and hearing impaired is very important.
