Disparities between Appalachian and Non-Appalachians in Kentucky have not changed over time. Appalachian men and woman have lower education and income, and greater unemployment factors creating barriers to access to health care. They use fewer preventive health services and practice fewer health-related behaviors compared with their counterparts in Non-Appalachian Kentucky. This book is useful for health care providers, policy makers, and researchers in their efforts to eliminate and reduce health disparities of Appalachian adults.
