Higher education in China has experienced unprecedented progress over the past 25 years because of its rapid expansion. While offering more opportunities for students to access higher education, higher learning institutions have also created many innovative approaches for their selection. Nowadays, the Chinese higher education enrolment system is multi-level, containing new recruiting methods, the reformed versions of the national college entrance examinations and other relevant elements such as funding resources and enrolment equality guidelines. However, this system has experienced a long evolution and is still facing many problems in contemporary society. This book aims to offer insights into the development of Chinese higher education access. It attempts to attract the attention of both domestic and overseas educational researchers who are interested in Chinese higher education and provide references for their use.
