Medical intervention alone is insufficient to assist women in the comprehensive way accessing PMTCT services, given their complex needs in a society in which HIV is highly stigmatized and considered a "social evil".

Thu Anh Nguyen é o Representante Nacional da Chemonics International no Vietname, gerindo um projecto de reabilitação económica para PVHVI e recuperação de toxicodependentes. Nascida em 1975, obteve três licenciaturas - Doutora em Medicina, Mestre em Saúde Pública, e Doutora em Filosofia em Ciências Sociais, centrando a sua investigação no VIH/SIDA.
