Physical education is a very important subject for students in basic education (from kindergarten to high school), as it promotes physical activity and the physical, mental and emotional well-being of these students, as well as the critical exercise of citizenship and improving the quality of life of the population. In view of the importance of this subject for the school community, this qualitative and quantitative field research was carried out in order to assess the inclusion of this public in classes and to ascertain the pedagogical practices and adaptations made by the physical educator. Our sample consisted of teachers from 17 municipal schools in the city of Caldas Novas, Goiás, Brazil. Coordinators from these schools and parents of students with disabilities also took part. As a result, it was possible to realise that there is accessibility for these students in Physical Education classes, but there are some adaptations to be made and some actions to be rethought.
