There is therefore the need for children with disabilities to have access to education for them to be productive to the country, community and their families. However, no studies have been undertaken to look at the extent of accessibility of educational facilities for children with disabilities in Ghana. There is therefore the need to document all educational facilities established purposely for children with disabilities at the basic level and assess how accessible these facilities are to children with disabilities.

Maxwell Peprah Opoku is a Ghanaian by birth born on 17th November, 1987 at Mampong in the Ashanti region of Ghana. He hold a first degree in Political Science and MSc Disability, Rehabilitation and Development from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has worked as Teaching Assistant as well as Graduate Teaching Assistant.
