In recent years, the areas dedicated to pineapple cultivation in Cuba have expanded significantly, making this crop an important source of foreign exchange for the country. The need to introduce the MD-2 pineapple variety in Cuban plantations requires high seed production in the shortest time possible, which can be achieved with the efficient use of micropropagation techniques, which have advantages over traditional methods of vegetative propagation. In spite of these advances in micropropagation, the acclimatization phase continues with difficulties due to the low percentages of survival and extends for prolonged periods of time due to the slowness of the growth of the plants. As a result of the study of the optimal moment of transfer of the vitroplants to the field, a percentage of survival close to 100% was achieved and shorten the period of acclimatization of the plants from 5.5 months and to 4.5 months. The reduction of the acclimatization time contributes to the increase of the production of the crop and the delivery of quality plants to the rural sector.
