The twenty-first century is the century of migrants and there have been more internal and international migrants than ever before. Currently, there are one billion people on the move which means one in seven of the total population is migrants. Every year the ratio of migrants continues to increase due to environmental issues, economic, and political instability. The movement, therefore, becomes an issue for both migrants and receiving societies because of different cultures of migrants and hosts. An interaction between migrants and host societies results in a special cultural change which is called acculturation. Acculturation is observed when different cultural groups come into contact. Acculturation is not a straightforward cultural change process. Migrants may experience several difficulties, either positive or negative effect on their psychological well-being, through this process when they get into direct contacts with a new culture.
