Produktbeschreibung
The book aimed at developing a biomarker for field use in monitoring the exposure and effects of pesticide application in the Mekong River Delta, Vietnam. The project methodologies were based on existing methodologies but a local fish species was used and all results were obtained from experiments performed in the Mekong river delta. This completed work consists of an introduction and five chapters in the form of scientific papers. Of these, fours have been published in international journals. All are linked and contain information from acute toxic values of the commonly used organophosphate diazinon and the carbamate fenobucarb on the snakehead, to basic information of ChE activity and its responses to these insecticides and recovery in clean water. In addition, effects of diazinon on the growth and behavioral responses of the snakehead (Surfacing and hanging) to this insecticide were also investigated.
