Introduction: Actinic lichen (AL) is a benign skin disease but causes aesthetic damage affecting the quality of life of patients. Aim of the work: To identify the epidemioclinical profile, the therapeutic and evolutionary modalities and the prognosis of AL. Methods: Retrospective study in the department of dermatology and pathological anatomy of the Habib Thameur Hospital in Tunis, over a period of 23 years. Results: We collected 15 patients with LA, including 6 men. The average age was 35 years. The onset of lesions was progressive in all patients. Pruritus was the major functional sign. No drug was formally implicated in the genesis of LA. Two main therapeutic modalities were used: combination of external photoprotection and synthetic antimalarials on the one hand, and combination of photoprotection and dermocorticoids on the other hand. Complications of the local corticosteroid therapy were noted in 3 cases: 2 relapses when the treatment was stopped and one recurrence. The vital prognosis was excellent. Conclusion: Our study illustrates the progressive onset and better prognosis of LA compared to lichen planus (LP).
