Motivation is one of the most important aspects in the formation of students and in their interest in the study of any subject. However, in reality we still find that it is used very infrequently. In order to contribute to its solution, a system of activities is proposed to strengthen the motivation for the study of Cuban History in the ninth grade students of the ESBU: "Rubén Martínez Villena" of the municipality of Ciego de Avila, which is based on philosophical, psychological, pedagogical, sociological, didactic and methodological principles and categories within the pedagogical process of the basic secondary school. In the development of the research, the following methods were used at the theoretical level: analytical-synthetic, historical-logical, inductive-deductive; at the empirical level: observation, interview, survey and at the statistical-mathematical level, the percentage analysis was used. The scientific evaluation showed that the proposed system of activities is effective to strengthen in ninth grade students, the motivation for the study of the subject History of Cuba.
