Acute myeloblastic leukemias (AML) constitute between 15% and 20% of leukemias in pediatric patients. In order to describe patients diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in the remission induction stage, a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in patients diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at the University Pediatric Hospital "José Luis Miranda" of Santa Clara. We worked with 24 patients. Almost all of them presented anemia, leukocytosis and thrombocytopenia. Hyperleukocytosis was present in obese patients and cardiotoxicity predominated in overweight and obese patients.
