Cathy left Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, where she was Director of the Chemical Dependency Program, in 2003 to work under Governor Bill Richardson's administration in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Cathy was director of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) substance abuse programs for the state of New Mexico for two years. Cathy was the Employee Assistance Manager for Behavioral Health Services for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad's Southwest Division. She worked part-time at Sierra Tucson, where her book, Operation Daughters Addicted, is being taught to those with a secondary diagnosis of disordered eating, and at Sabino Recovery, where she worked with those recovering from trauma. Both facilities are in Tucson, Arizona.
