Whether you are a student teacher just beginning to explore English language teaching, an ESL teacher, or a seasoned classroom teacher integrating second language learners into a mainstream K?12 program, Adding English: A Guide to Teaching in Multilingual Classrooms, Second Edition, is a comprehensive source of ideas and advice for enhancing the learning of all students, in all subject areas, at all grade levels. The organization of this new edition remains the same, and the content that quickly made the first edition a core text in many courses for ESL teachers has been revised and updated to reflect new research in the field and new program initiatives. Elizabeth Coelho sets out exemplary practices and practical strategies to help you: ensure that newcomers feel welcome and supported in your multilingual school and classroom; understand the challenges faced by those who are adding English to their repertoire of languages; develop your knowledge of the basics of English so that you can support language learners more effectively; provide content-based language instruction geared to the needs of English language learners; organize a program and plan lessons that meet the needs of all students; and plan assessment and evaluation activities that take into account the needs of second language learners. The Second Edition features: revised procedures for initial language and literacy assessment; information on Response to Intervention (RTI); discussion on Translanguaging to communicate within the family and school; program planning highlighting the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP), and information on Specialty Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE); in-depth explanation of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); and new activities and examples. There are updated resource lists to reflect the enormous amount of material in the field that has been published in print and online since the publication of the first edition.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
