Attention Deficit Disorder with or without hyperactivity (ADHD) has three main characteristics: inattention, hyperactivity and impulsiveness. ADHD affects attentional abilities, which are related to executive and memory functions. This clinical study involved 11 students aged 11-13 years with the objectives of: (i) to screen for ADHD in students with academic learning difficulties, (ii) to determine the clinical signs in terms of behavior, according to gender using the following assessment techniques: bonhomme test, clinical interview, and Conners behavior scale. The link between ADHD and school learning problems is explored in this study to contribute to the understanding, diagnosis and management of this disorder as a health problem, and to determine the areas of strength and weakness of adolescents with school difficulties, providing key information to parents and teachers on how best to promote learning.
