Autorenporträt
Seventy-four-year-old married Scotsman Jim Costello's writing draws on his interesting and varied career to create rich, compelling reading.Reinventing himself many times, he has worked in psychiatric nursing, the Royal Navy, gents' outfitting, the civil service, and political campaigning and fundraising. As election agent and a senior party executive, he worked with cabinet ministers, MPs, MEPs and Members of the House of Lords. After politics, he retrained as a driving instructor and spent many happy years getting hundreds of pupils of all ages through their driving tests. After suffering a stroke Jim completed a 1400 mile fundraising walk for the NHS. Now he is enjoying a well-earned retirement, but is still as active as ever in the local community. You just can't keep a good man down.Jim has always had a love of the sea and all things maritime. Technical details and knowing exactly how things work has always fascinated him. His other passion is science fiction, especially Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, E Doc Smith and John Wyndham. He has been a fan of Star Trek since the very first episode of the very first series. His other interests and hobbies include backgammon, fish keeping, gardening, photography and house rabbits. Sadly his last little hooligan, Toffee, is now resting in the great warren above. Find out more at www.jimcostello.co.uk.
