The farm women practicing goat farming are the backbone in the rural area of the state of West Bengal, India. Goat farming in rural areas are traditional and non-remunerative without scientific farming practices since long. The dissemination of scientific knowledge and adoption of improved practices are the mainstay for sustainable livelihood improvement of these pro-poor farming communities. In this book, the present status and future strategic knowledge gain and adoption of scientific farming practices are elaborated in the several aspiration districts of the Govt. of India for holistic, socioeconomic development of the intended stakeholders. The book is based on post graduate research work, gives an overview to a reader about the present goat farming status and step wise knowledge gain as well as adoption of improved farming practices for future strategic planning to attain sustainable better livelihood among the stakeholders.
