Adoption is a topic that requires much debate and reflection, due to its importance and presence in the social context. The existing adoption process has shortcomings to be improved, such as its clear slowness, which cause harmful consequences to children and adolescents sheltered waiting for a home and a family to welcome them. The intention, in fact, with this work, was to highlight this problem and promote a brief reflection on the strategies already adopted as means of solution, coming from the most varied social spheres, as well as to bring the question: family life, protected by the Federal Constitution of 1988, is being guaranteed in its entirety? In any case, it is worth noting that there was no forgetting the institutes of affective sponsorship or even the foster family. The focus, or rather, the central object, however, stopped at the detailed criticism of the application of the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, and the consequences such as late adoption.
