The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptions and experiences of online adult art students regarding their self-proficiencies, quality of instruction, success strategies, barriers for completion, intentions, and motivations in online art programs. There are some indications that adult students struggle with learning art online and therefore become discouraged and drop out of their art programs. Dr. Patricia V. Tobin earned her Ph.D. in Education; specializing in Post Secondary & Adult Education from Capella University. She also holds a Masters degree in Art from California State University, Fullerton & a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach. She has taught at the post secondary level for several years.
