This collection of poetry shows the connection we still have with our inner child within our adult bodies. The child is still within. Learn to recognize this union. Learn to see life more completely. Honor the child within. Accept and continue to utilize the gifts of childhood. They can make our adult years more open to wonder. The normal progression of life is usually portrayed something like this - you are born a baby; then you are a kid for a while; then you become an adult after surviving your teenage years; eventually you become an elderly adult often with medical issues before you finally pass over. Each stage is basically considered separate from the stage before, and there's no going back. What if this is not what really happens? What if you can recapture parts of your earlier life? What if you can once again be that child, but in your adult body? Life then becomes more expansive and richer. Imagine being an adult who can see life through the eyes of the child he or she once was. You could again see life with a sense of childlike wonderment. Not all our memories are joyful I am sure, but the effort to be connected with your inner child far outweighs any pain. Poetry captures these experiences more completely than other forms of expression, since it is often written without any real boundaries. Poems often deal with emotions and feelings not facts and statements of life. On some level we all realize that we, today, are the summation of our total existence. Most of us give little attention to our childhood formative years. That part of us is still alive within. Use these poems to open up that connection, and realize that dandelions can still be viewed as beautiful flowers, not just some evasive annoying weed. These poems will help you to see life again through the wonder of a child's eyes! Published by Local Gems Press www.localgemspoetrypress.com
