By the time the histopathology satisfies the criteria of a particular disease, the biochemical and genetic alterations would have progressed far in advance that requires much of attention. The molecular insight of human genome had lead to better understanding of disease course and appropriate treatment modalities thereby reducing the morbidity and mortality. The advanced molecular techniques have become an integral part of day to day investigative procedures and it is likely that in future, these methods will increasingly become a standard practice in routine diagnosis and management of the patients.
