The objective of the book is to meet a long felt need of students for new trends in Organic Chemistry. Green methods of synthesis of organic compounds have been specially included and compared with conventional methods to educate the students about the latest developments taking place in chemistry to reduce addition of chemicals to our environment which ultimately causes health hazards to life. Solvent free synthesis of organic compounds has also been discussed and organic synthesis using microwave heating are also included. Green qualitative analysis of organic compounds along with conventional qualitative analysis has been discussed in detail. The subject matter has been divided into three main parts: In first part, general techniques for purification of organic compounds by crystallization and chromatography are discussed. The second part contains a large number of organic syntheses and reactions which develop theoretical and practical skill in the students and also includes green methods of organic syntheses and reactions. In the third part qualitative organic analysis is discussed in detail.
