Computer aided diagnosis systems based on image have significant potential screening and early detection cancers. Medical imaging can provide human body visualization, observes anatomical changes and biological process characterized by different physical and biological parameters. However medical imaging usually requires experienced medical doctors for image interpretation in short time. Due to various subjective factors like limited time analysis and tools, it is quite common that for same set of medical imaging, different medical doctors may come up with different diagnosis results. Over the years, different medical imaging modalities have been developed. This book only focuses on three medical imaging modalities including Computerized Tomography (CT), Histopathology Slide Imaging and Infrared Thermography (IRT). The book aims is to explain the necessary background, principles and advances of computer aided diagnosis systems combined with meta-heuristic optimization algorithms in concrete and simple examples. Merging the theory with the practical examples in medical imaging enables the reader to apply the technical concepts directly and to visually understand what they mean.
