Autorenporträt
My name is Kathleen Mary Arispe, but everyone calls me Kat. I was born in Chicago, Illinois 32 years ago, and I'm the youngest of fi ve kids. My mom and I moved to San Antonio, Texas when I was three years old; which I'm thankful for because I doubt I could have survived in the freezing "Windy City"! I now reside in Jourdanton, Texas with my three kids, Isaiah (15 years old), Sienna (5 years old), Amaya (2 years old) and my fi ancé, Richard. First and foremost I must thank God for giving me the ability to do what I love, and for making this a reality for me. I also must give thanks to Elsa Arispe for her fi nancial support. My passion has always been drawing and writing. My mom (Yolanda) has always encouraged me. She showed a genuine interest in my artwork and gave me confi dence. I decided to write a story just for my son; something he could enjoy and maybe learn from. Gradually, I started to realize that maybe this could be a way to express my talent (to write and Illustrate a children's book). I used ferrets as the main characters instead of the traditional bears and rabbits. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy them as much as I do. Keep an eye out for part two!
