LBK stands for Little Black Kitty. It also is an abbreviation for Lubbock (Texas), where we lived when we were visited by the cutest little black kitty. Unfortunately, the timing was not right for us to keep him, but several photos were taken for later reference. My tribute to this little fellow was to take him on some of the same trips that I was able to take years later. I imagined what LBK might have thought or done in various situations as he explored his world through my reference photographs. I find inspiration from walks in my backyard, travel, country trips, life journeys, and sometimes my work reflects an opinion. I try to look from a perspective that others may not realize is there and then express it. Most of my paintings have a "back story." When not painting, I found time to become a Master Gardener and return to school for a Masters in Landscape Architecture. Currently, I am experimenting with how to express light coming through my subject matter. I know I have more to learn but I am enjoying the process and the results.
