They could hit their targets hundreds of yards away with their long-range rifles. Captain Samuel Clifton was a plantation owner and a family man, who loved his beautiful wife and children. They loved to have parties where they were known for serving good food and having great entertainment.

Autographical sketch of the Author: James Clifton Bell, Junior. James Clifton Bell, Junior was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 27, 1932. He graduated Forest Park High School and Georgia State College with a degree in Marketing. He worked with Delta Air Lines, Inc. for 41 years, retiring as Manager of Purchasing, Ground Services. During this time several important events happened: In April of 1950 he put his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and became a Christian, an act that changed his life forever. In 1954 he married the sweetheart of his life, Estelle Bowyer, a union that is now in their 63rd year of true love and happiness. They have three great Children, Janenow deceased, a victim of breast cancer, James,3rd and Jean. They are blessed with eight Grand Children and two Great Grand Children. He served on the Reorganization of the State of Georgia for management and improvement study, reporting to the Governor, Honorable Jimmy Carter. This resulted in a potential savings of $80,000,000., Including $ 9.6 million from the purchasing study. James is the former Vice President, President and director of National affairs for the Purchasing Association of Georgia. From an early age James loved reading stories of adventure and history. Due to his sweetheart being away at college and later his being in the army they wrote letters almost every day. James wrote her poems often which she enjoyed and encouraged and he liked doing. Later in life he wrote articles for the local newspaper which he continued for some fifteen years. This led him to write his first book, Arrive Alive. Then he went on to write his first Novel, Adventures of the Ghost Patrol, Which he hopes many lovers of the Old South and the Civil War era will read and enjoy.
