Autorenporträt
J.L.Rames is debuting her new picture book, Adventures with Darian - A Pirate At (Sea) See which aims to promote awareness of vision impairment and feature a diverse main character to advocate for inclusion. The hero of the story was inspired by her fearless and daring son Darian. It showcased a character like him, one with a prosthetic eye. "I wanted him to see himself as a hero in a story, helping others with vision impairment to feel heard and included" Jo-Anne hopes to use this campaign and the success of her book to raise awareness of Coats' Disease and other retinal disorders.
