By considering that the militant act is a form of solidarity, most of the citizens engaged for the migratory cause, do not answer in their commitment, the urgent problems of survival which face many asylum seekers. The primacy of militant actions over solidarity actions, insofar as they seek to fight against the conditions of social contempt, would thus obscure the real issues related to the asylum application in France. Indeed, through an ethnographic immersion, the author defines through this book the forms of expression, motivations, modalities as well as the limits determining the citizen commitment, in a context of repressive migratory policies.
