Two morphotypes of Aedes aegypti were encountered from the wild. One population had dark and the other pale wings, thus it became necessary to investigate the polytene chromosomes of this vector. To discover any revelations of differences in their chromosomal sequences that might lend themselves to species identification. Salivary gland polytene chromosome from the fourth larval instar of Aedes aegypti was successfully obtained in the course of this work. This gave the impetus to attempt salivary gland polytene chromosome preparations from the fourth larval instar and white pupa of Culicine mosquito which also yielded a successful result. These discoveries are suggestive of better analysis within the mosquito cytogenetics sphere and should especially be useful to both emerging scholars and professionals in the rapidly evolving field of entomology.
