Aerosol size distributions of observed mass concentrations at Duolun, Yulin, Zhangye in the major Asian dust source regions in China and the downstream site of Seoul National University (SNU) campus in Seoul Korea have been examined using the 8-stage cascade impactor and the 10-stage quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) cascade impactor at Naiman in Inner Mongolia. The particle size distributions of the mass concentration at the Duolun, Yulin and Zhangye sites are found to have a 4-mode log-normal distribution at all sites with a largest spectral probability density at Mode 3 with spectral shifts towards the larger particle size for the dust event case.…mehr

Dr. Soon-Ung Park holds a BSc in Meteorology from Seoul National University (SNU) in Korea, an MSc in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in USA and a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from Oregon State University in USA. He worked in SNU as a professor from 1981 to 2006. He founded Center for Atmospheric and Environmental Modeling.
