This manuscript belongs to various treatment modalities available in literature to treat the receding gums. Receding gums present one of the most common aesthetic and functional problems of the periodontium , but also one of the most complexes regarding the aetiology and the treatment modalities. Receded gingiva can be inflamed but may be normal except for its position. It may be localised or generalised and it can effect one or more tooth surfaces, with the buccal ones being most frequently effected. Gingival recession can be caused by periodontal disease, accumulations, inflammation, improper flossing, aggressive tooth brushing, incorrect occlusal relationships and dominant roots
