Abdoul Karim Konaté est né à Kourninkoto au Mali. Il n'a pas cessé de dénoncer la délinquance financière et clientélisme sous le régime de l'ex président malien Amadou Toumani Touré avant d'être arrêté et libéré plus tard. Il est chercheur à l'Université de Nouakchott.
