Walter Michler (text) and Guenayy Ulutuncok (photos) have produced this report on Africa's children. The world they depict is not intact, despite all the cheerfullness, the beauty and the courage to face life they have encountered. Violence, underdevelopment and political crises are a danger to life, as is the indifference we are all guilty of. But there is hope in this book too, nourished by the courage and the energy of the people in Africa. Positive examples like those of SOS Children Village are also encouraging: they help to overcome resignation and to secure the future.
