Jenny (Currier) Shand is a food writer, blogger, reconteur, and citizen of the world who has been a "stow away" member of the JOY Writers for over a decade. New to the JOY Writers, Trace Jolliff grew up in the Texas panhandle. William Lowery, returning contributor to the JOY Reader, writes fiction, memoir, and essays with a unique and humorous voice. Eva McCollaum is the teacher of the JOY Writers and a retired Professor of English. Joyce McCollaum earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and English from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. Barbara Corn Patterson wrote "sheepherder" on her first job application and became a substitute teacher. Hedda P. Saltz--artist, designer, poet--has created two poetic collections rich with the beauty of the common place. Carolyn Patterson Sidd is a former operating room nurse. She graduated from ENMU-R, and holds a BS in nursing from Purdue University. She was awarded the AORN Journal Writer's Award in 1977. She recently graduated from Queens University of Charlotte, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing.
