Trauma often follows familiar patterns, yet remains deeply complex and unique to each individual. While everyone experiences pain, each person's journey through it is their own. Understanding and striving for happiness while living with that pain is a personal endeavour. This story explores Marla's journey of childhood trauma, how a 'normal' life may not be as normal as it seems, and how one person's reality can be very different from another's. Acknowledging the existence of problems is the first step towards healing.

Autorenporträt
Working with children has raised a lot of questions in my mind. Mostly about childhood and parenthood. I have seen many people carry the burden of childhood trauma into their adult lives. I myself am still trying to understand what childhood trauma means to people and how it can affect you as a child, as an adult and even as an old person. Some people don't realise that their behaviour is largely influenced by their upbringing. I hope that my writing can help people to understand the journey and that someone who thinks they are 'normal' may actually have a great deal of inner trouble. Family should be the place where you can be the most vulnerable, accepted, and understood What can happen when family is unable to provide you with unconditional love?
