Autorenporträt
Dr. Joanne Z Moore is the editor of the digital magazine, Pathfinder: A Companion Guide for the Widow/er's Journey. A member of Toastmasters International and a Distinguished Toastmaster, she facilitates retreats on end of life and bereavement issues. She is a member of a book club at her church. When she was widowed at the age of 57, she drew upon her professional physical therapy experience for inspiration. She recognized that people respond differently to loss: whether the loss of a limb or of the ability to move easily. She observed their strategies for making adjustments to their life plans and for building new networks of people for support and friendship. She implemented their thought processes to deal with her own grief. As the editor of Pathfinder: A Companion Guide for the Widow/er's Journey, she has listened to many stories of how others have managed this new stage of life. She has both learned from their mistakes and has been inspired by their growth. Dr. Moore believes that it is easier to learn from one another than to struggle through alone. She offers her support to widows and widowers so that they feel supported in a gentle way as they rebuild their lives.
