Much has been written about dying with dignity, but how about living with dignity through the latter years of our lives? For many senior adults, this season of life is not always considered the golden years . More critical than the physical effects of aging are those related to the psycho-social realm. Aging adults often feel isolated, rejected, and useless. Their lives seem void of purpose and meaning. As a result, many older adults may suffer from depression. This book explores the topic of aging in terms of living with purpose and passion despite declining health, loss of loved ones, and changes in life situations. The book follows the lives of five senior cheerleaders, who have found purpose, meaning, and passion in later life through a sport not typically associated with older adulthood. Each of the five exuberate the true spirit of athleticism.
