Initially, a brief history is given of the construction of the elderly in society. The roles of sage or hindrance have been present throughout human history. This is followed by a brief account of old age by the father of psychoanalysis - Sigmund Freud. In the conclusion, the author reaffirms the importance of the analytical process for people over 60.
