The popularity of video games among gamers of all ages continues to grow. Concern that violent video games may promote aggression or reduce empathy in their players is widespread. The aim of this work is to study the effects of violent video games on aggressive behavior in children and adolescents. First, a literature review was conducted on the main topic of the study. Subsequently, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate the effects of violent video games on aggressiveness in children and adolescents. According to the findings of the present study, video games did not increase aggressive behavior over time. A significant relationship was found between the use of video games and the occurrence of anger or annoyance while playing.
