The investigator had visited many destitute homes in her college days which created an interest in her mind from her young age to work for these women. From her observations, she has found much psychological distress and depression present in destitute women.

Dr. (Miss) Anita Sharma is Assistant Director in UGC ¿ Academic Staff College, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla-5. She joined the University as Assistant Professor in Psychology in 2005. She has guided 10 Ph.D. and 22 M.Phil. Students till date. She has also authored 2 books entitled ¿Personality and Social Norms" and "Agony of Destitute Women".
