This book is the output of an ethnographic study conducted in a village of Bangladesh. The main objective of this book is to analyze the pattern of agrarian structure of a Bangladesh in all important aspects of the existing production system and living condition. This book revealed social, economic and technological elements of agrarian structure that characterize the production system of agriculture and its social relations. The social organization, cultural and political condition of the village community has been also described along with its interaction into the wider society in order to explore the pattern of agrarian structure with total social reality in this book. Although the discussion is mostly concentrated on a village to explain its agrarian structure on account of the nature of the analysis, importance has also been given on the broader aspects of the agrarian structure along with its historical development in Bangladesh in this book. Concurrently, results of the previously published relevant books, articles and reports have been used rightly in most of the preceding chapters in this book in order to have a better understanding of the agrarian structure

Sadikur Rahman is the Team leader of FWCA, Bangladesh. He hold a Masters in Social Work and awarded PhD from Institute of Bangladesh Studies. He was a guest lecturer in UiA. He worked as researcher in a number of NGOs in Bangladesh. He presented conference and seminar papers in country and abroad. He has many published article and book.
