Agri-tech is a fourth revolution (Farming 4.0) of agriculture with amalgamation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the conventional agriculture practice. The technologies clout on innovations to fix low food productivity in the rural-urban fringe. Food insecurity is overriding setback in the urban population in Kenya. The food prices are expected to soar in line with high population pressure in the urban stratum in Kenya. In similar veins, the rural-urban fringe land mass in Kenya is on a dwindling lane due to competition from urbanization projects such as housing and industrialization. The negative impends includes but not limited to urbanization, poor land management, prolific climate change, resource depletion, increased carbon footprint, post-harvest loses, food insecurity, rural-urban poverty and destruction of bio-diversity. At the present time, technology revolutions are projected to gradient up agriculture to the subsequent neck and neck. The Agri-tech projects leverage on smart farming innovations through use of; drone & satellite, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles,Robots,Big data analytics, Biotechnology&Machine learning.
