This study was carried out to characterize the problems and issues related to technology diffusion in gender perspectives and poverty reduction in Makwanpur district during the year 2005-2006. The problems and issues were more concerned with two major processes- the intervention of social mobilization process, technological interventions by the social mobilization agencies, concerned line agencies and the technologies adopted on the self initiations of the local organizations. Problems were also related to certain aspects of gender particularly in the use of technology, provisions, accessibility and control of the resources related to poverty reduction aspects. Inadequacy in policies and weakness in implementation part were also one of the important focuses of the study. The overall purpose was to generate information needed for the better analysis of the rural poverty and formulation of effective and proper policies for the improvement of rural life.
