This is a work that contemplates the different stages of a research that gave rise to the serious game, Agroingenius; designed for the training in industrial safety for workers in the agricultural sector, which, according to the ILO and other research, is the economic sector with the highest occupational accident rates worldwide. It also compiles information from other research and studies that highlight the role of serious games as a teaching methodology that facilitates the transmission of knowledge through the use of game elements and highlights the success of its application in different sectors and areas of knowledge, such as business, military, transportation, health, construction, among others.
